The Board of Directors needs innovative thinking and a growth-based mindset to meet and exceed our needs. I will support the best of technology, science and engineering in this position in order to maintain the award-winning standards of the Central San operations and facilities.
MY PLATFORM
Central San was awarded its 25th Platinum Peak Performance Award, honoring our more than two decades of full permit compliance. The National Association of Clean Water Agencies recognizes the district's ability to process more than 30 billion gallons of wastewater without a single permit violation.
FUTURE NEEDS
Managing the waste water treatment for thousands of customers requires an eye on expansion, optimization and redefining services. As Contra Costa expands its housing stock, Central San will need to expand. We will need to call on the best of our engineers, property managers, equipment managers and human resources. We will be equal to the task by planning for growing demands and greater environmental management.
EXCELLENCE IN ENGINEERING AND MAINTAINENCE
From your house to the Suisun Bay, Central San depends on the best plant operators, field technicians and engineers to ensure the health and safety of residents, employees and the greater Bay Area ecosystem. We must continue to attract the brightest and most representative work force possible. We need to provide the best work environment and quality compensation for every member of the Central San community.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Central San will face new climate impacts in the coming decades. These includes reducing the nutrient discharges into the Bay, growing use for and reliance on reclaimed water and expansion of hazardous waste intervention. More local, regional and state regulations dictate our obligations to our bay ecosystem. Central San will be ready to lead the industry in planning, research and responsiveness.

LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY
As technology makes strides, so will Central San. Technology optimization is already improving responsiveness to micro adjustments in the waste water processes. Technology can improve treatment systems, reclamation and efficiencies in our processes.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Central San relies on the integration of science, engineering and community engagement. We are partners with numerous agencies, such as CAWS, San Francisco Water Quality Board, East Bay Municipal Utilities District, and East Bay Regional Parks. We will continue to seek new partners in the evolving landscape of waste water treatment, water reclamation and nutrient diversion.
